I am Certified by the American Board of plastic surgery. Following my training at the Medical College of Virginia at Richmond, I have been practicing in Austin since 1987.
I served as the Chief of Plastic Surgery in 1994, 1998 and 1999 for Seton Medical Center and I operate at several outpatient surgical facilities conveniently located within Austin. I was the President of the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons for 2005-2006.
My practice attends to the needs of patients of all ages. I perform a wide variety of cosmetic procedures involving the face, nose, breasts, and abdomen using the most current techniques available. Reconstructive surgery also constitutes a significant portion of my practice, assuring many of my patients a return to a normal lifestyle following injuries or disease processes.

Various factors can take a toll on a woman's breasts; aging, changes in weight, and pregnancy can cause the breasts to lose volume and skin elasticity, which, in turn, causes the breast to sag. If you would like to regain the breast contour you once had, you may want to consider breast lift surgery. At his Austin practice, David M. Turner, M.D. provides his patients with the highest quality of service and individual attention.
Every new patient consultation is a 30 to 45 minutes one-on-one with Dr. Turner in a relaxed, comfortable setting. During your visit with our Austin plastic surgeon, the two of you will discuss your medical history, steps to prepare before and after breast lift surgery ("mastopexy"), possible risks and side effects, and expected results. Dr. Turner will also create a personalized plan for you.
Depending on your particular needs, Dr. Turner can use one of three incision techniques - circumareolar, vertical, or a standard anchor incision. The circumareolar incision is made only around the edge of the areola (nipple), lifting the breasts to a more youthful position on the chest wall. When using the vertical method, the incision is made around the areola and down to the inframammary fold in order to remove excess breast tissue and skin.
For Austin, Midland, and Round Rock breast lift candidates who have larger breasts, Dr. Turner will choose the standard anchor incision. Similar to the lollipop technique, this incision also extends horizontally underneath the breast crease. Excess skin and breast tissue is removed, and the nipple is relocated to a higher position on the breast.
Oftentimes, our breast lift surgeon may recommend combining breast enlargement with the breast lift procedure to achieve larger, fuller, more youthful breasts. Should you have minimal sagging, breast augmentation ("augmentation mammaplasty") may be all that is necessary to reach your goals.
You can view Dr. Turner's patient results in before and after plastic surgery photos to get an idea of the results you may anticipate with breast lift surgery.
